There'll not be any British referees in the 2018 World Cup in Russia for the first time in 80 decades. Fifa has declared 99 referees and supporters for the championship, with not one from England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Mark Clattenburg was the sole British referee appointed on Fifa's lengthy list of officials at summer 2016 however he sacrificed his location when he left his first job with all the Premier League at February 2017 to proceed to Saudi Arabia.

The FA tried to substitute Clattenburg but its petition was refused by Fifa. Meaning there will not be a British officials participate in the World Cup finals for the first time since 1938.

Video assistant referees (VAR) will be picked from the pool of officials in the championship, together with chosen to attend a two-week convention at the Football Association's foundation in Coverciano following month.

England's Howard Webb was Britain's only representative in the World Cups in 2010 and 2014, taking control of their closing in 2010 between Spain and the Netherlands. In complete three Language referees have taken control of their World Cup closing -- a tally that's equalled only by Italy.

The Football Association and referees' institution PGMOL work together to put forward their decisions for Fifa's global record.
